HyungIhn (Clara) Myung

I am HyungIhn “Clara” Myung from Seoul, South Korea. I came to the USA when I was in 7th grade and lived for 6 years in Houston, TX.  I graduated Maryland Institute College of Art in December 2016. My major is Illustration and I am interested in children's books illustrations and animal subjects. Also, I love movies and comic illustrations. I believe that artists should have freedom of expression. Art is everyday in our lives and acts as a catalyst of change in our society. Artists can attempt to solve our environmental, political and social issues with their creative voices. As an illustrator, I feel like art is my strongest weapon because it is my voice. Although I am deaf, I never dismiss myself: I am very proud of being an artist. I love all colors, lines and shapes. Art opened my ears, eyes and heart to see how beautiful our lives are. Art is my HeArt.
